The story of Ji Gallery is the story of two people --- Robert and Aihua Craven and their shared love of Asian art and antiquities. This shared love resulted in many trips through galleries and antique stores in Southern California in search of high-end, reasonably priced Chinese antiques. Frustrated by the limited choices, the Cravens decided to open their showroom and Ji Gallery was founded in 1998.

Since that time they have pursued their passion with a vengeance, traveling to China, handpicking a team of antiques experts and restorers, and establishing a presence in Beijing. The Cravens and their team of experts now dedicate themselves to fulfilling Ji Gallery¡¯s mission of providing its clients with the highest quality Chinese antiques at affordable prices.

From the plains of Mongolia to the jungles of Southern China and from the coast of Canton to the majestic peaks of Tibet, Ji Gallery¡¯s team researches, authenticates, and purchases only the most finely crafted pieces according to rigorous quality and aesthetic standards. Although their furniture and accessories span many periods, they are primarily focused on the Qing Dynasty through the early years of Chairman Mao (18th Century to mid-20th Century).

After being selected, the antiques are carefully packed and transported to Beijing where skilled craftsmen painstakingly restore and refinish each piece according to Ji Gallery¡¯s exacting requirements. Each piece is then inspected a second time before being selected for one of many annual shipments to the United States. Recently, the Craven¡¯s have also added a line of elegant contemporary furniture of their own design that is hand-crafted by some of China¡¯s most talented furniture makers.

Ji Gallery¡¯s pieces now grace the homes of thousands of clients, including actors, producers, directors, writers, designers, and stylists. Furniture purchased at Ji Gallery has also been seen in movies, on television, and in advertisements as well as in major national magazines, including Architectural Digest.

Bob and Aihua Craven look forward to sharing their love of Chinese antiques with you. Visit them at their North La Brea or Studio City locations, and they will help you select the perfect piece for your home.
